Do you find yourself endlessly scrolling through Netflix, trying to find the perfect show or movie to watch? We know the feeling! We thought we’d share our current Netflix favorites that we can’t stop binge-watching. So if you’re looking for comedy, action, or even a sprinkle of drama, give these a try.
What Kristina Is Watching on Netflix Right Now: Beef
Move over burgers, there’s a new kind of beef sizzling on Netflix! We’re talking about the dark-comedy drama series Beef starring the hilarious duo of Steven Yeun and Ali Wong.
It all started with a license plate: 7C764F1, the catalyst for the twisted and oh-so-entertaining tale of Danny Cho and Amy Lau. A small traffic incident in a parking lot turns two strangers into enemies, and the tit-for-tat relationship that develops leads to escalating acts of revenge as Amy and Danny learn about each other’s identities and families and become more and more involved in each other’s lives.
But what sets Beef apart from other shows is not just its unique plot, but also its impressive representation. Representation in Hollywood has been a long-standing issue, but Beef features a predominantly Asian cast, a refreshing sight in the entertainment industry. It’s important to celebrate shows that break barriers and showcase diversity, and Beef does just that.
And let’s not forget the show’s tagline: “Revenge is best served raw.” With a catchphrase like that, you know you’re in for a thrilling journey. And while the show is centered around revenge, it also manages to explore deeper themes such as family, identity, and the consequences of our actions.
And if the thrilling plot and impressive representation isn’t enough to entice you, the show also features the stunning Ashley Park in an unforgettable role. And let’s be real, we can’t get enough of her fabulous wardrobe.
So fire up your screen, grab some popcorn – or maybe some beef jerky if you’re feeling carnivorous – and prepare for a wild ride with Beef. With revenge served raw and a cast that breaks barriers, Beef is the show you didn’t know you needed, but trust me, you won’t be able to get enough!
What Alisa Is Watching on Netflix Right Now: The Twilight Saga
Are you ready to feel old? It’s been over a decade since the first Twilight movie hit theaters, and yet here I am, rewatching the entire saga like it’s 2008 all over again. That’s right, I’ve been sucked back into the world of sparkly vampires and angsty werewolves. And you know what? It’s been oddly comforting.
There’s something about revisiting a beloved franchise that just hits differently. It’s like reuniting with old friends, except instead of catching up on life events, you’re reliving the drama of a teenage girl torn between two supernatural suitors. How iconic.
As I sit here with my Miss Vickie’s and a glass of wine, I can’t help but think about how much has changed since the first time I watched Twilight. Back then, I was team Jacob all the way, rooting for his smoldering good looks. But now, as an adult, I’ve come to appreciate Edward’s charm. Watching his relationship with Bella unfold, it’s easy to get swept up in the romance of it all. And while their wedding may have been a bit rushed, it’s hard to deny how beautiful it was.
And finally, can we talk about how hilarious some of the lines are? I mean, who could forget when Jacob goes, “Bella, where the heck have you been, loca!” It’s moments like these that remind me that these movies aren’t meant to be taken too seriously.
So if you’ll excuse me, I have to go finish watching Breaking Dawn: Part 2 for the hundredth time. Because even though I know how the saga all ends, who doesn’t love a good twist ending? Rewatching The Twilight Saga may not be the most intellectually stimulating activity, but it’s a heck of a lot of fun. It’s a reminder of a simpler time, when the biggest worries in my life were about who Bella would end up with, and whether or not she would become a vampire.
And honestly, sometimes we could all use a little escape.
