Sometimes at night you can hear some noise across the hall or the floors creaking past your bedroom door. That’s just me not-so-subtly sneaking into the kitchen. Or the chips bag crinkling. Or the jam jars clinking. Here are some of my go-to midnight snacks.
1. Instant Ramen
This one’s probably a universal classic. Not only is it affordable but it’s also really quick and easy to cook. I’ve recently learned how to make Japanese onsen (hot springs) eggs so I’ve been absolutely obsessed with them. Having them with ramen’s one of the ways I love eating them. My current favourite is this one.
2. Pringles
I still think about what a grand innovation it would have been if they ever added a twisty contraption to push the chips up.
3. Brie Cheese
If you know me, I’m a softy for cheese, especially when that cheese is brie. Honey, jam, fruit, nuts, I’ll take it! I’ll have it with crackers, with toasted bread, with fresh bread. I’ll have it with whatever carb I can find in the house, whether it’s bread or pasta. But to be quite honest, I’d be happy eating a wedge on its own. It’s a good thing Costco sells these in a pack of 2.
4. POGOs
Who doesn’t like a good corndog? If I’m feeling fancy, I’ll put them in the toaster oven or air fryer to give them a delicious crisp. The real question is, do you eat the crispy leftover batter off the stick?
5. Hi-Chews
These candies are dangerous. What do I mean by that? I mean that I can probably eat several packs in one sitting without noticing. There’s so many flavours to choose from, there’s bound to be one you enjoy. My favourite is the açai berry. The silver candy wrappers sure do pile up!
Writing this list is starting to make me hungry. What are your favourite midnight snacks?
