Happy New Year, dear readers!
As we bid farewell to 2023 and say hello to 2024, we stand at the threshold of a fresh beginning – a blank canvas awaiting the strokes of new experiences, more growth, new adventures, and great surprises.
The New Year is not merely the flipping of a calendar page. It’s a moment for reflection, a chance to learn from the chapters behind us, and eagerly pen the stories that lie ahead. So, with hearts full of gratitude and anticipation, here are our New Year’s resolutions for this year.
Kristina’s New Year’s Resolutions
1. Run a marathon
Okay, maybe half a marathon. But in all seriousness, I’m trading my Netflix marathons for actual marathons. This year, I want to reignite my passion for running and regain my cardio, all while cultivating a sense of strength and health that goes beyond the miles.
Alright, time to get a new pair of running shoes!
2. Read 24 books in 2024
If you know me, you know that I’m a complete bookworm.
I already dive into a different book every month. But this year, I’m turning it up a notch and challenging myself to read even more. Lately, I’ve been loving reading on my Kobo. It helps make my purse much, much lighter to carry around!
3. Travel to a new destination
Okay, it doesn’t have to be a new destination. It just has to be a new adventure.
Of course, I’d love to visit a city I’ve never stepped foot on before. But I’ve also got a long list of places I want to revisit, places I might’ve been to a couple of times to see family, but never really delved into the local attractions and sights. This year’s all about rediscovering familiar places with a fresh perspective. Plus, I’ve been dreaming of riding that Vancouver skytrain!
4. Draw more
It’s no secret that I love to read and write. But what you may not know is that before I developed a love for all things words, I grew up loving to draw.
Lately, I’ve found myself immersed in countless videos featuring people doodling, bullet journaling, or creating amazing lettering. It’s sparked the artist in me, and this year, I’m eager to dive back into the world of drawing.
5. Commit to a healthier sleeping routine
I know this one’s easier said than done, but sometimes going to bed early for a fresh brain the next day is more productive. I often find myself staying up late, trying to check as many things off my to-do list. But this year, I want to bid farewell to working in the wee hours (and late-night scrolling), and aim for calmer activities before bed instead, like reading or meditation.
And hey, maybe I’ll even invest in a better mattress this year!
Alisa’s New Year’s Resolutions
1. Buy myself flowers
Why should we wait for other people to get us flowers? I just need the perfect vase. This calls for some vase shopping! Maybe my resolution should have been “less spending.”
2. Read 12 books in 2024
If you know me, you know that I’m not a bookworm.
I grew up reading Wattpad stories throughout high school. I recently got a Kindle and I picked up right where I left off with reading: cheesy, kicking-your-feet romance books.
3. Get my driver’s license
Ya girl’s on her third learner’s permit. It’s about time I get my driver’s license. I don’t want to be called Spongebob any longer.

4. Give one compliment a day to myself
I think everyone should be doing this this year. It’s important to be your own hype(wo)man.
5. Try a new hobby
I think I’d like to feed my creative side this year. Or maybe fuel my athletic side. Whatever it may be, I’d like to try out something new. And hey, maybe we’ll write about it…
So, what are your New Year’s resolutions this year?
