Kain na tayo! Let’s eat!
If you’re Filipino or have a Filipino friend, you know that the best parties are Filipino parties. And you know that part of what makes these gatherings truly special is the food, of course!
Filipino cuisine is a fusion of various influences, including Spanish, American, Chinese, and even Malay. The dishes are known for their unique mix of sweet, savoury, and tangy flavours, often balanced with salty and sour notes. Key ingredients commonly found in Filipino cooking include rice, pork, coconut, mango, eggplant, vinegar, soy sauce, garlic, and onions.
So whether you’re craving crispy lechon, savoury chicken adobo, or sweet halo-halo, Montreal offers a range of restaurants that deliver the vibrant flavours of the Philippines right to your plate. Here are my favourite spots for FIlipino food in Montreal… apart from your Filipino Tita‘s house, of course!
1. Beck’s Filipino Cuisine
4886-B Boulevard Des Sources
Dollard Des Ormeaux, Quebec
H8Y 3C7
My favourites: Halo-halo, pancit bihon, pork sisig, and pork sinigang.
Beck’s Filipino Cuisine stands out as probably the only spot in the West Island where you can experience authentic Filipino flavours. This place has everything: from hearty soups to flavourful stews, crispy fried dishes, comforting noodles, and even exciting kamayans that bring friends and family together. And let’s not forget about their wide selection of desserts, including the beloved halo-halo and kalamay. Now you can bring Filipino flavors to your events and gatherings with Beck’s catering services!
2. Buboy
5976 Monkland Avenue
Montreal, Quebec
H4A 1G8
My favourites: Cantaloupe juice, corned beef, longanisa, loco-gang, and OG bulalo.
Buboy‘s only been open for about a year, but this cozy, twelve-seat restaurant, decorated with lots of eighties and nineties Filipino decor, quickly became a neighborhood favourite, making every person that walks in feel right at home. Buboy serves a variety of rich, flavourful dishes all made from scratch, like the OG bulalo soup and the kare-kare with oxtail and eggplant in peanut sauce, and refreshing drinks like their famous cantaloupe juice. Come hungry: the portions are generous and the food is unforgettable!
3. Cuisine de Manille
5781 Avenue Victoria
Montréal, Quebec
H3W 2R3
My favourites: Dinuguan, kamayan platter, kare-kare bagnet, and okoy.
The best kamayan platter is hands down at Cuisine de Manille, a family-run restaurant since 2003 and a beloved favourite for many locals. This shareable platter has everything you can think of: garlic fried rice, grilled eggplant, BBQ skewers, fried pork belly, fried chicken, and calamari, amongst many other options to choose from. You’ll also love their street food options like kwek-kwek, lumpia, and okoy. For the perfect picnic experience, grab your kamayan platter to go, and head straight to Mackenzie-King Park across the street!
4. Junior
1964 Notre-Dame Street West
Montreal, Quebec
H3J 1M8
My favourites: Adobo brussel sprouts, calamansi pie, lechon and waffles, and tocilog.
One thing I love about Junior is how creative they get with naming their dishes, with fun names like “I don’t want to pakwan” for a watermelon flavoured mocktail – pakwan meaning watermelon in Tagalog. But it’s not just their names that stand out. Their food is just as inventive. They put a modern twist on classics like adobo brussel sprouts and duck adobo, giving them a fresh and exciting flavour. And we can’t forget about their brunch menu either. Their tocilog hits the spot every time!
5. Kalye
4735 Avenue Van Horne
Montréal, Quebec
H3W 1H8
My favourites: Bangus sisig, hot dog sisig, pancit palabok, and garlic fried rice.
Kalye is the new, hottest spot in town, drawing in food bloggers, social media influencers, and even TikTok’s very own Nurse John. But what’s got everyone flocking there? Here, you’ll find all the best sizzling dishes. From classic sizzling sisigs like pork and bangus, to inventive options like sizzling hot dogs and sizzling tofu, they’ve got something for every palate. And let’s not forget about their mouthwatering palabok noodles – a true crowd pleaser!
6. Love Joy Express
6444 Avenue Victoria
Montréal, Quebec
H3W 2S6
My favourites: Chicken burger, crispy fried chicken, lumpiang shanghai rolls, and spaghetti.
If you miss Jollibee’s fried chicken, you need to head to Love Joy Express. Their chicken is crispy outside, and nice and juicy inside. Just how you like it. Plus, they even have Filipino spaghetti with that nice sweet Filipino spaghetti sauce and melted, shredded cheese. Craving a chicken burger? They’ve got that too, just like Jollibee, really. Oh, and did I mention they also have, pork BBQ skewers, crispy pork belly, and fried lumpia rolls too?
7. Restaurant Papa
5955 Victoria Avenue
Montreal, Quebec
H3W 2R8
My favourites: Bopis, crispy pata, laing, and turon.
Stepping inside Papa‘s always makes me feel like I’m at a party at my Tita‘s house. Their cafeteria-style service allows you to see all their tempting options for the day laid out before you. They have ample seating, and even the option to rent the space for parties and events. Papa’s serves all your favorites, from crispy, fried flavors to a variety of dishes that include vegetables, noodles, and even seafood. My personal favourites are their crispy pata, bopis, and for dessert, their turon. These are the best in town, and IYKYK.
8. Notre Boeuf de Grâce
3762 Wellington Street
Verdun, Quebec
H4G 1V2
My favourites: Pinoy smashburger, sinigang chicken wings, and tocino breakfast sandwich.
I know what you’re thinking: Notre Boeuf de Grâce isn’t a Filipino restaurant. But this June, in honour of Filipino Heritage Month, they’re offering a special menu with unique fusions like calamansi iced tea, sinigang chicken wings, and a Filipino smashburger. They’re also serving breakfast items like a tocino breakfast sandwich, and milkshakes such as ube and peach mango, inspired by Jollibee’s favourite pie flavours. Ang sarap! I know where I’ll be every week of June!
And there you have it: all my favourite Filipino restaurants in Montreal. Each restaurant offers a unique experience that makes you feel right at home, just like at your Filipino Tita‘s house. So go ahead, indulge in these vibrant dishes and celebrate the spirit of Filipino food in Montreal.
Happy Filipino Heritage Month!

Wow… Sarap! Kakamiss!
