When it comes to Disney movies, the heroes may get all the glory, but let’s be honest: sometimes, the villains are the ones who steal the show.
From their evil plans to their memorable looks, Disney villains bring a unique charm to being bad. But who’s the most wicked of them all? We’ve ranked your favourite Disney baddies to find out!
In last place: Lady Tremaine
Style: 3 (she’s a little basic)
Song: 1
Personality: 1
Motivation: 1
Evil plan: 1
Total: 7/25
She’s such a terrible mother that most people forget she’s called “Lady Tremaine” and only know her as “the wicked stepmother.” Her backstory doesn’t go very far and her character just screams *toxic family values.*
In 8th place: Cruella de Vil
Style: 5
Song: 1
Personality: 3
Motivation: 1 but 5 (if you watched Cruella)
Evil plan: 1
Total: 11/25
That fur coat, the red gloves, the long black silk dress, and those chic heels: it’s giving glamorous. But the lady kills dogs… Let’s just say she’s not on PETA’s ambassador list.
In 7th place: The Evil Queen
Style: 4
Song: 1
Personality: 1
Motivation: 1
Evil plan: 5
Total: 12/25
Have you seen that collar? It’s really giving villain. Plus, you can tell she never misses her eyebrow threading appointments. Now if only her ambitions were bigger than winning a beauty pageant…
In 6th place: Ursula
Style: 1
Song: 4
Personality: 4
Motivation: 2
Evil plan: 3
Total: 14/25
Two words: blue eyeshadow. And to quote the OG bougie big sister: “blue eyeshadow is out.”
In 5th place: Maleficent
Style: 5
Song: 1
Personality: 3
Motivation: 3
Evil plan: 4
Total: 16/25
If you ask us, Maleficent just had major FOMO after not getting an invite to Aurora’s christening. Her style’s *chef’s kiss* with her nails done, a phat ring on her finger, and a unique headpiece. She has to wait a full 18 years before her revenge plan can finally unfold. She’s the queen of the long game. Very mindful, very patient.
In 4th place: Hades
Style: 2 (just for the cut-outs in his shirt)
Song: 2
Personality: 5
Motivation: 3
Evil plan: 5
Total: 17/20
Hades is the King of the Underworld and he has ALL the sass. He scores low in style by wearing a plain black shirt. But he can have an extra point for the cutouts in the neckline.
In 3rd place: Gaston
Style: 3
Song: 5
Personality: 4
Motivation: 2
Evil plan: 4
Total: 18/25
Gaston has an itty-bitty waist (it’s giving hourglass – watch out, Kim K.). And he’s supposedly strong, because he eats five dozen eggs a day (L.O.L.). But he put Belle’s dad in the psych ward so… yikes.
In 2nd place: Mother Gothel
Style: 4
Song: 5
Personality: 4
Motivation: 3
Evil plan: 3
Total: 19/25
Mother Gothel is somewhat relatable, because we all wanna look young forever too. Now imagine the entire supply of snail mucin gets taken away by the royal family. Yep, exactly – guess we can empathize. Although she can’t even access her own tower without making Rapunzel pull her up… –10000 aura.
In 1st place: Jafar
Style: 5
Song: 5
Personality: 5
Motivation: 2
Evil plan: 3
Total: 20/25
Jafar’s style definitely scores high: he has a sceptre (!!!) and padded and pointy shoulders. You can also tell he has a full maintenance day on the weekends with those brows. But hopefully his side profile’s a lot better because his neck is really giving giraffe in this picture.
He and his sidekick bird have the *same* eyebrows. Can you imagine having matching features with your pet?
Without these Disney villains, princess movies and fairy tales would be pretty dull, wouldn’t they?
Because while they may be evil, they also teach us important lessons that help us make better choices. When you get to know them, you realize they’re relatable characters going through tough times just like anyone else.
