We love a minimalistic, monochromatic look. Most of my closet is just neutrals! If you’re, like me, looking to slowly step out of your comfort zone, here’s what I’ve been doing to add a little pizzazz to my closet.
1. Try a classic in a trendy colour
The easiest way to branch out is to deviate just slightly. So try a classic silhouette, but in a different colour! If you’re not ready for bright and bold colours, try a more soft and muted one.
2. Try a basic piece in a print
Try adding in a print, like floral or stripes. No need to start mixing prints, you can start slowly.
3. Try a integrating new materials
You know how a good meal is just so much yummier when you have a little crunch? Try doing the same with your outfits! Try wearing different textures together to switch it up. You can add leather to give your look a little edge, corduroy for a cozier vibe, or fur for some glam.
4. Try a different cut
I adore a puffed sleeve! It opened the door to so much more. If you’re not ready to wear a loud colour or a bold fabric, try a different cut. You can get a neutral-coloured sweater with bell sleeves or puff sleeves. Or try a top with a different neckline.
5. Try adding accessories
Vamp it up with your accessories! If you’re not ready to step out of the house in orange pants, try an orange purse instead. Stack your rings, layer your necklaces, or try a pair of funky earrings.
Textures, prints and accessories can add so much personality to your outfit. Give it a go and make your style your own!
