I always find myself going out more in the summertime.
With the longer days and warm evenings, it feels like the perfect season for catching up with friends and (my favourite!) trying new restaurants.
This summer, one of those places for me was Lou’s in Pointe-Claire (yes, the West Island!). The restaurant has been open since November 2023, but I only got the chance to check it out earlier this month… and I’m still thinking about the meal weeks later!

The first thing I noticed when I walked in was how beautiful the space is.
The ambiance is both elegant and warm, with soft lighting that makes the whole room feel nice and cozy. I love the mustard yellow leather banquettes and the simple wooden tables!
I was so busy taking in how lovely the space was that I almost forgot to check the menu and place my order! So once I finally looked at the menu, here’s everything I decided to try at Lou’s.

Limoncello Spritz
Limoncello, prosecco, and club soda
I love anything lemon flavoured, so this refreshing cocktail was perfect for a warm summer day. It does lean a bit on the sweeter side, so skip it if you’re not much of a sweet tooth. But to me, it kind of reminded me of a yellow lollipop.
Also, look how cute their glasses are!

Crispy Brussel Sprouts
With poblano jam, aïoli, and sunflower seeds
These Brussels sprouts were perfectly crispy, topped with sunflower seeds, and a sauce combo of poblano jam and aïoli. I love aïoli, and while there might’ve been a little too much jam for my taste, every bite was still super delicious!

Crispy Fries
Served with garlic mayo
These fries are dangerously good! They’re crispy on the outside, soft and warm on the inside, and served with the most amazing house garlic mayo. Not to mention, the portion is HUGE. Honestly, I could munch on these all day!
I don’t even know why I ordered a side of ketchup! Totally unnecessary!

Striploin Steak
Served with mushrooms, and topped with a red wine sauce, crispy onions, and chives
The striploin steak was melt-in-your-mouth perfection. Lou’s cooks the best medium-rare, and serves their steak with mushrooms (and really, you can never go wrong with mushrooms!), and topped with delicious a red wine sauce, crispy onions and chives.
Every bite was incredible… I’m still dreaming about it!

Everything was absolutely delicious. I finished every last bite!
Some side notes though:
1. I kind of wish I had saved room for dessert. I have the biggest sweet tooth, and the dessert menu looked incredible. I’ll definitely be back to try the New York style cheesecake, or key lime pie! Yum!
And 2. They even have a private room you and your friends can book for any special occasion! I think it comfortably fits about 15 to 20 people.

So if you’re looking for a spot to enjoy a great meal, Lou’s is a must-visit before summer ends. Trust me, you’ll leave already planning your next visit!
