Is it just me, or have there been more and more fall romance books coming out lately?
Normally, I go straight from beach reads to Christmas stories, but I’m happy that now I can enjoy a few fall romances in between each season.
So here are 7 of my favourite fall romance books, perfect for curling up in your PJs with a blanket and a warm drink!
Falling Like Leaves by Misty Wilson

Vibe: Gilmore Girls meets Jenny Han
Ellis is a New York City girl with big dreams, like applying to Columbia and working on her fashion projects.
But when her mom suddenly moves them to Bramble Falls, Connecticut, everything she planned feels upside down. And between cozy fall streets and a cute cat café, she keeps running into Cooper, a former friend who now seems to hate her.
The Honeycrisp Orchard Inn by Valerie Bowman
Romance level: ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️
Spice level: 🌶️ 🌶️ 🌶️ 🌶️
Vibe: My childhood friend got hot
After she’s left with no job, no boyfriend, and no place to live, Ellie returns to her family’s inn on a Long Island apple orchard for a quiet break. Instead, she’s stuck working the Harvest Festival alongside Aiden, her childhood friend and the stubborn, handsome son of the orchard’s owners.
Oh, and fair warning: this book will have you craving apple cider donuts!
If It Makes You Happy by Julie Olivia
Romance level: ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️
Spice level: 🌶️ 🌶️ 🌶️
Vibe: Why am I thinking about kissing my hot neighbour?
It’s 1997 in Vermont, and newly divorced Michelle is trying to revive her late mom’s bed-and-breakfast while figuring out what’s next. She’s determined to get out of this small town and get back home to Seattle as soon as she can.
But then there’s Cliff: the local baker and single dad who makes it a little harder to leave…
It’s Different This Time by Joss Richard
Romance level: ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️
Spice level: 🌶️ 🌶️ 🌶️
Vibe: Right person, wrong time
I honestly only bought this book because I thought the cover was stunning. But I have to admit, this cover is a bit of a catfish: the story doesn’t really feel fall themed (aside from the characters buying a pumpkin and eating pumpkin pie).
Nonetheless, the second-chance romance is fantastic: June returns to New York City after her TV show gets canceled, only to discover she’s inherited her old brownstone with Adam, her former roommate she hasn’t spoken to in 5 years…
Pumpkin Spice & Everything Nice by Katie Cicatelli-Kuc
Romance level: ❤️ ❤️ ❤️
Spice level: 🌶️
Vibe: I’m not like other girls
16-year-old Lucy Kane HATES pumpkin spice lattes. She thinks it’s overrated! But that’s a problem, because she works at Cup o’ Jo, her mom’s cozy local coffee shop.
Business usually picks up in the fall, but that all changes when Java Junction, a multinational coffee chain, opens across the street. And to make matters worse, Jack Harper, the new kid at school (and Lucy’s secret crush!), is the son of the chain’s owner.
The Pumpkin Spice Café by Laurie Gilmore
Romance level: ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️
Spice level: 🌶️ 🌶️ 🌶️
Vibe: 10/10 Gilmore Girls energy
When Jeanie inherits her aunt’s small-town café, she thinks it’ll be the perfect fresh start. But when someone starts sabotaging the café, she has to figure out how to keep things running. Luckily, Logan, the gruff but kind local farmer, steps in to help (and maybe to steal her heart too!).
I promise you’ll have SO many Gilmore Girls flashbacks while reading this one! I can’t wait to dive into the rest of the series!
See You Next Fall by Annabelle McCormack
Romance level: ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️
Spice level: 🌶️ 🌶️ 🌶️
Vibe: You know I love a London boy
Sex is off the table. Honesty is paramount. And meet the first week of October, every year. Those are the rules.
For 4 years, Elle and Quinn have stuck to them, keeping their friendship strictly no-strings-attached. But as the leaves turn and their annual week together begins, old rules get tested and sparks start to fly…
Annabelle McCormack is a fantastic author, and if you haven’t read anything of hers, I suggest this one as a perfect start!
So, which one’s going on your fall reading list first? Let me know in the comments!
