Most mornings, I’m racing against the clock and rushing through my routine. Those alarms on my phone seem to be getting snoozed on their own…
But even on the busiest mornings, there are a few things I like to do to feel instantly more put together.
Here are 8 little things that make me feel instantly more put together.
1. Washed hair
Obviously I’m not washing my hair when I have 15 minutes to get out the door. But I can already feel the difference when I leave the house with fresh hair. You can only do so many slick backs before your scalp starts asking questions.
2. Brows
I’ve learned to embrace my natural brows, but let’s just say I wasn’t blessed with the fullness that beauty influencers seem to wake up with… If there’s one makeup step I don’t skip, it’s the brows!
3. Blushed cheeks
Nothing says “I just had 8 hours of sleep” quite like a little colour on my cheeks. The right shade evens out my skin tone and does just the trick.
4. Simple jewelry
If I only have time to put on a simple tee and trousers, I’ll throw on some simple, dainty jewelry. It feels like a little cherry on top.
5. A steamed outfit
I’ve never felt like I have my life together more than when my button up is wrinkle free. Whether or not that’s true is really none of your business…
6. Clean shoes
Nothing makes me feel more deflated than wearing a busted pair of sneakers. Even the cutest outfit loses its sparkle when your shoes are looking like they’re past the expiry date.
7. Perfume
It might be my delusion but smelling pretty really helps me feel pretty. A few sprays of perfume is my favourite finishing touch.
8. Moisturized hands
I don’t drive, but dry hands and chipped nail polish is my “check engine” light. Pass the hand cream please!

Nothing on this list is going to break the Internet and I definitely don’t do all of these every single day. But these small habits can really make a difference and can help set the tone for my day.
Being put together isn’t about being perfect. Sometimes, it’s just taking a few extra minutes in the morning to show yourself a little love.
